This role is to provide Quality Engineering support to Manufacturing, Testing, Purchasing & Engineering activities.
Responsible for ensuring that a benchmark for World Class quality is developed and maintained across all areas of the business.
Job Description
- Monitor on a daily basis the quality of production (kits, sub-assemblies, and finished units) to ensure consistent world class product quality.
- Maintain, develop and evolve daily the documented quality systems, in particular the QMS, specifically managing the Internal Audit process and plan.
- Evolve and develop further group wide approvals, eg AS9100, kitemarks etc.
- Refine, report and drive improvement on all KPIs.
- Assist in measuring, reporting and driving improvement in (EMM) supplier quality and delivery, in line with KPI targets.
- Manage and facilitate external 3rd party assessments in accordance with the company’s quality management registration schemes.
- Analyse performance data and information to identify opportunities for preventative actions and continual improvement, carrying out in depth statistical analysis (evolving the feedback database) on internal and external error’s, including detailed corrective and preventative reports to all levels of the business (including customers).
- Develop and evolve the current “customer returns” and “inspection reject” processes, controlling the corrective and preventative actions that arise.
- Train and facilitate Process Improvement Groups in the effective use of quality tools to enable continual improvement.
- Initiate and manage real time response to customer reported issues / NCR’s to ensure the effectiveness of actions taken and identify and drive process improvements to ensure non-recurrence.
- Maintain and evolve a detailed supplier audit programme in conjunction with Purchasing / Engineering.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with process owners to ensure ongoing suitability and effectiveness of documented procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure inspection staff are appropriately trained, and set appropriate rules, procedures, and measurements for improving the quality of goods booked into stock (especially PCB assemblies).
- Issue and control all procedures, forms and work instructions.
- Work with the H&S nominated individuals in conducting risk assessments and reporting on all aspects of H&S to ensure compliance and best practice.
- To provide support to the NBD / AM teams and be involved and lead customer quality audits / visits in conjunction with these teams.
