The Role
The Component Engineer, is responsible for selecting, validating, and managing components used in engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
BOM Validation
- Confirm and validate the finalized CBOM component comply with customer BOM
- Confirm and validate the validity of CBOM MPN
- Map the CBOM components to existing available components to minimize duplication
ERP System
- Maintain Item Master Data in ERP system
Component Advice
- Provide component specification/datasheet/comparison advice to internal personnel
- Validate/proposing suitability of alternatives proposed by internal personnel or supplier
- Propose alternate part to internal personnel
System/Program Maintenance
- Luminovo data management
- MPN management
- Upload the MPN into database to check MPN status
- Compile MPN lifecycle report to notify internally
- Create new PN if it does not exist in system
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Component Engineer
- Attentive to detail, careful
- Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate internally and suppliers
- Personal Integrity
- Knowledge in electronics components’ technicality, specification, and data sheet interpretation.
- Some knowledge in electrical circuitry and functionality of components.
- Some knowledge in mechanical, and electro-mechanical parts.
- Some knowledge in InforLN ERP System, Teamcenter, Luminovo will be added advantage.
- Computer knowledge especially Microsoft office.
- Some knowledge of component market, pricing, and availability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electronics or electrical discipline
