The Role 

The IQC Engineer is responsible for managing the Incoming Quality Section, supervising inspection teams, and ensuring all incoming materials meet quality standards. The role includes reviewing inspection lot status, investigating material defects, coordinating rejected lots with supply chain and suppliers, maintaining supplier quality ratings, and driving continuous improvement within IQC. The engineer also ensures smooth material flow, proper documentation, staff training, and performs other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and responsible for effective and smooth operation of Incoming Quality Section.
  • Supervise a group of assistant engineers, technicians and inspectors to perform Incoming Inspection of parts.
  • Ensure that specified inspection, test and measurement as required by the system are performed prior to material acceptance.
  • Review daily and weekly incoming inspection lot status.
  • Investigate major fallout due to material defect encountered during production processing.
  • Enable the smooth transaction of inspected material flow from receiving store to main store with proper documentation and update of Infor system.
  • Maintain, monitor and manage Supplier Quality Rating program.
  • Determine critical inspection criteria for new part through consultation with Engineering.
  • Coordinate the disposition of incoming rejected lot together with Supply Chain Officer and work closely with them and supplier on disposition such as replacement, rework and sorting arrangement.
  • Ensure IQC inspectors and technicians are continually retrained or briefed on their job function, inspection methodology.
  • Establish a conducive environment to promote Continuous Improvement Activities in IQC.
  • Manage QA pending warehouse stock due to the problems caused by supplier.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superior.

Qualifications 

  • Degree in Engineering with 2 years’ experience in a similar environment, or
  • Diploma in Engineering with 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
