The Role

The Manufacturing Engineer, is responsible to lead a rework team to clear pending rework units and work with others team to improve process for reducing the reject rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and modification: Rework and modify PCBs by removing and soldering components, repairing PCB pads, and fixing internal circuitry.
  • Assembly: Support production by assembling and modifying sub-assemblies and components based on schematics, blueprints, and instructions.
  • Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair logic boards and other issues.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure all rework and modifications meet high-quality standards, such as IPC 610 Class 3, and follow safety protocols like ESD.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all rework activities and inventory.
  • Technical support: Communicate technical issues with engineering teams and provide support for manufacturing and product development.
  • Equipment maintenance: Perform daily maintenance on required soldering and other equipment.
  • Able to lead a rework team to clear pending rework units and work with others team to have process improvement for reducing the reject rate.

Skills & Experience

  • Technical skills: High-level soldering skills for fine-pitch surface-mount and through-hole components are essential.
  • Component knowledge: Ability to identify, test, and handle a variety of electronic components.
  • Documentation proficiency: Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Certifications: Often requires certifications like IPC 771.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills are crucial for handling delicate and complex electronics.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing tasks and priorities. 

Qualifications 

  • Preferably a Degree in Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
