The Role
The Product Engineer is responsible for managing new product implementation (NPI) activities, ensuring smooth transition from development to mass production. This includes BOM creation, work instruction preparation, line setup, engineering change coordination, product validation, and providing technical support to both internal teams and customers.
This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, process stability, and production readiness.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, independent, and experienced in mechatronics or electronics manufacturing, especially in box-build assembly environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the new products implementation. The job including new BOM, and Work Instruction creation, trial run activities coordination, sample submission to Customer and follow-up on the sample submission status.
- Responsible for new line setup. The job including jigs / fixture readily prepared till complete buy-off for production released.
- Responsible for the ECN issuance, coordination and ensure its implementation accurately.
- Provide technical support to Production and communicate with Customer on the technical part of the products.
- Responsible for the FMEA and Control Plan creation and coordinate for the implementation.
- Ensure Customer specification is implemented to the product in manufacturing.
- Liaise with Test Development Engineer on the new tester development.
- Liaise with Process Engineer for new machine setup.
- Maintain product specification.
- Perform Product / Process Validation during product development stage.
- Participate to Kaizen activities to achieve process improvement, cost reduction and yield improvement.
- Perform any other duties assigned by superior.
Skills & Experience
- At least 4 years of working experience in the mechatronics or electronics manufacturing company, preferably experience in box build assembly.
- Good experience in jigs & fixture design.
- Able to work independently, self-motivated, commitment and result oriented.
- Good in English and able to communicate fluently.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
