The Role

The Process Engineer (Injection Molding), is responsible for performing mold trial operations, debug and optimize plastic injection molding parameters.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing mold trial operations, debug and optimize plastic injection molding parameters.
  • Identify and ensure all manufacturing needs for new product in development to the finished results.
  • Plan and coordinate daily audit for engineering processes, tool set up & part buy off etc.
  • Ensure injection-molding process are optimize and quality meet specifications required.
  • Maintain process parameter control for every machine and mold set up.
  • Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions.
  • Responsible for summarizing and keep the records of trial model parameters, analyse, summarize of trial model process, promotion of optimization plan.
  • Responsible for formulating technical standards for plastic injection molding process, improvement of production process, improvement of product performance and structure, including the compilation of process instructions.
  • Prepare process documents such as standard parameter, Work Instructions.
  • Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour required.
  • Investigate problems analyse root cause and drive resolution.
  • Develop and improve molding processes for new and existing products.
  • Check, lead and person in charge for Process related documents, audit both internal and external.
  • Lead a group of mold setters for Production related process and Process technicians for NPI, new product testing.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 Years of experience in plastic engineering.
  • Conversant in Injection Molding Processes, Box Build Assembly, Plastic Tool, Jig and Fixture design concepts, PFMEA, Process Validation, SPC and Control Plan.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
