The Role 

The Test Engineer is responsible for setting up, validating, and maintaining testing equipment to ensure product quality and reliability throughout the production process. This position plays a crucial role in supporting production by ensuring all testers function efficiently, accurately, and with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in PCBA and functional tester systems. A proactive approach to continuous improvement, good teamwork, and attention to detail are essential to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tester Setup and Commissioning: Install, configure, and perform initial debugging and buy-off (final approval) for new testing equipment.

  • Performance Validation: Conduct CPK studies to verify tester consistency and reliability, whether developed internally or supplied by customers.

  • Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to and resolve tester malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

  • Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure testers operate efficiently and reduce unexpected failures.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to optimize testing processes, increase test yield, and minimize downtime.

  • Sample Management: Manage Pass/Fail samples for validation, calibration, and comparison purposes.

  • Inventory Management: Ensure availability and proper tracking of spare parts for all testing equipment.

  • Support Development: Collaborate with Test Development Engineers during the setup and commissioning of new testers.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting PCBA and functional testers in a manufacturing or test engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiar with testing tools, CPK analysis, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to work Shift.

Qualifications 

  • Diploma in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
