The Role
The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting daily quality control activities, ensuring product and process quality compliance, and conducting inspections, measurements and capability studies. The role also supports injection moulding quality, customer complaint containment, corrective actions, inspector training and measurement equipment verification.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support QC inspector daily task.
- Perform product FAI, Cpk and Trial Run measurement (where applicable).
- Create and provide CMM and SSV measurement programs to support moulding production runs.
- Understand of injection molding process and its type of defect’s.
- Verify containment and corrective actions are in place to address failures and customer complaint.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Engineer.
- Perform sampling re-verification of part inspection done by the inspector.
- Follow up of the problematic lot until it is properly disposed/rework
- Perform machine and process capability (Cpk) study where applicable.(GR&R)
- Monitor and ensure the quality conformance of in-process sampling and finished products.
- Conduct measurement training for QA inspector.
- Perform preventive maintenance and verification of gauge usage in QA moulding (every 6 months)
- Any other duties assigned by superior.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar quality/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of injection moulding processes and common moulding defects.
- Experience in FAI, Cpk, GR&R and Trial Run measurements.
- Able to operate CMM and Smart Scope.
- Experience in sampling inspection, product verification and quality monitoring.
- Good understanding of containment and corrective action for quality issues and customer complaints.
- Able to conduct measurement training for QA Inspectors.
- Knowledge of gauge verification and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
- Professional Certificate / Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
- Able to work night shift and weekends when required.
