The Role 
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring product and process quality throughout the manufacturing process. You will support new product introduction (NPI), resolve quality issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Determine all necessary product / process and customer requirement into inspection standard and Quality Plan.
  • Prepare Quality Plan or Inspection Plan to determine necessary control in the line.
  • Prepare weekly or monthly report as required by superior or customer
  • Review the effectiveness of control plan and quality plan to ensure acceptable quality levels of the produced product at different stages of production are maintained.
  • Participate in FMEA activities during new product Introduction and review when necessary.
  • Conduct capability studies of processes, manufacturing equipment and tools. (where applicable)
  • Initiate 8D disciplined problem-solving methods to analyze customer complaint and returned products (RMA).
  • Lead/Coordinate 8D problem-solving method for customer complaint and returned products (RMA).
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and other applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Involve in machine, fixture and tool validation process (where applicable) before use in production.
  • Monitor and analyze outgoing product quality, quality gate trends and initiate appropriate action to resolve the problems with relevant departments.
  • Participate in sample run and trial run of new products to ensure that product quality requirements are fulfilled and report problems encountered to the team.
  • Identify and address recurring quality issues related to product performance.
  • Liaison with applicable safety regulatory body inspection and follow up with relevant department for the generation of corrective action and its closure.
  • Conduct measurement system analysis (MSA) on related equipment. (where applicable)
  • Perform statistical process control study on related processes. (where applicable)
  • Any other duties assigned by superior.
  • Participate in KAIZEN activity in general or department.
  • Do verification and judgement on PCBA level issue by referring to the IPC standard (CIT / CIS).
  • Participate in trial run activity to buyoff the first piece panel for soldering condition.
  • Prepare and update customer KPI report and share with customer.
 
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in electronics PCBA manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of PCBA and molding manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, and Quality Plan.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (CIT/CIS) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
 
Qualifications 
  • Degree in Engineering Discipline with 2 years’ experience in a similar environment; or
  • Diploma in Engineering Discipline with 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
