Job Description:
The role of Section Head - CZ Production encompasses day-to-day responsibility for all ‘direct’ staff at all our Chomutov sites. A person in this role ensures production operations run smoothly and plans are met, while making sure the correct processes and safety measures are followed. They are the main point of contact for line leaders in preventing disruptions with timely adjustments by ensuring proper information flow and coordination with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- To manage budgetary control, production staff effectiveness and overall productivity to achieve the set targets in the Company Scorecard
- To ensure the efficient planning, reviewing and communication of operational needs and changes throughout the business. Effective usage of the workforce capacity within the team but also across all the sites within the Company
- To monitor production and the business KPI of On Time Delivery performance to customer request dates (OTIF), ensuring it is met and improved upon. Flexible prioritisation based on the Customer requests through the planning team or Managers of the Customer Service Teams
- To constantly review all aspects of the production operation, driving improvements in methods, procedures and efficiency. To include speeding up Throughput and reducing (Work in progress) WIP.
- Ensure all customers, both internal & external, service levels are met, maintained and improved upon.
- To maintain and improve upon our existing quality levels.
- To attend relevant weekly and monthly meetings and to ensure the provision of reports and status details for such, assisting the manager team to ensure the effectiveness of the business as a whole.
- To oversee the monitoring and control of labour performance throughout all areas of Operations via Team Leaders, ensuring the effective use of resources available. Including developing a plan for future investment to improve staff utilisation, paid hours vs sold hours.
- To continually mentor and grow staff, suggesting areas for training and continued personal development, ensuring the growth of internal talent through cross-training. Ensure the cross-training is coordinated through all Departments and sites to achieve high flexibility.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- To assist the other Department Heads in understanding the current details/constraints of Operations and Production through meetings and reports.
- To champion the excellence of quality and ensure adherence to agreed Group Quality standards and expectations in cooperation with the QA department.
- To ensure the efficient planning, reviewing and communication of operational needs and changes throughout the business.
- To promote continuous improvement activities throughout the business.
Skills Required:
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Native or near-native level of the Czech language is a must.
- Relevant technical qualification preferred,
- 3 -5 years of Supervisory or management qualification/experience.
- Experience of leading a team in a demanding, fast-changing, manufacturing environment.
- Excellent internal and external customer service and communication skills.
- Experience of leading process improvement in a technical business environment.
- Organised, with demonstrable attention to detail and a strong ‘right first time and every time’ ethos.
- To be numerate, literate and fully conversant to a high level with Excel, Word, Outlook and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, reporting and presenting data in meaningful reports.
