The Role
The Test Development Engineer, is responsible for creating and maintaining test software used in the manufacturing process of electronic circuit boards. This role ensures that products are tested accurately, efficiently, and consistently before moving to the next stage of production. The developer works closely with engineering and production teams to improve test systems, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development
- Develop and maintain test programs used for verifying the functionality of PCBA and box-build product.
- Create user-friendly test interfaces and automated routines to support production testing.
- Ensure test software is reliable, stable, and easy to maintain.
- Test System Support
- Work with engineers to integrate software with test equipment, fixtures, and instruments.
- Troubleshoot test software or system issues during production.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by preparing test software for pilot builds and mass production.
- Data and Reporting
- Ensure test results are captured accurately in the manufacturing system.
- Provide data analysis support when required to help identify product or process issues.
- Quality and Compliance
- Follow company standards for documentation, version control, and code quality.
- Ensure that test processes meet internal and industry quality requirements.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with customer, hardware engineers to define test needs.
- Provide training and support to production teams when new test systems are introduced.
Skills & Experience
- Basic knowledge of electronics and the ability to understand circuit boards.
- Experience with programming languages such as C#, C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, or similar.
- Ability to troubleshoot both software and electronics-related issues.
- Basic understanding of communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, or TCP/IP.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or test engineering environment.
- Familiarity with automated test equipment ,PCBA and box-build testing.

Qualifications
