The Role

The Corporate Quoting Executive, is responsible for handling supplier quotations and supporting cost evaluation for procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quotation & Costing
    • Execute RFQ and analysis of cost models for customised commodities such as cable assemblies, sheet metal fabrication, machining, packaging, die-cut, etc.
    • Validate supplier quotations for accuracy and competitiveness
  • Supplier Engagement & Negotiation
    • Work closely with approved suppliers to:
      • Obtain competitive quotes within timeline
      • Drive cost breakdown transparency
      • Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead time, and tooling cost
    • Benchmark across suppliers to ensure best commercial outcome
    • Support dual sourcing and alternative proposals where applicable
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Interface with:
      • Engineering (DFM / feasibility)
      • Procurement / Commodity Teams
      • Business Unit / Sales / Costing
    • Ensure alignment on:
      • Specifications and drawings
      • Cost targets
      • Lead time and manufacturability
  • Data Accuracy & Governance
    • Ensure all quotations are:
      • Accurate in UOM, pricing, and assumptions
      • Properly documented and traceable
    • Maintain quotation records in ERP/quoting systems (e.g., INFOR, SAP)
    • Adhere to internal controls:
      • Maker-checker validation
      • Pricing deviation checks
  • Commercial Strategy Support
    • Provide cost insights to support:
      • Customer negotiations
      • Margin improvement initiatives
    • Identify cost reduction opportunities:
      • Design optimization
      • Material substitution
      • Process improvements
  • Execution & Responsiveness
    • Meet aggressive RFQ turnaround timelines
    • Prioritize based on business impact and urgency
    • Support escalations for urgent builds or customer commitments

  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years working experience in procurement/purchasing function in a Contract Manufacturing or related industry.
    • Knowledge in the related commodity supply market and sources.
    • Possess commercial negotiation skill is preferred.
