The Role 
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of material resources, purchasing, inventory, logistics and demand fulfillment activities from suppliers through manufacturing to customers. You will lead the Supply Chain team to ensure materials are available on time, inventory is effectively controlled, suppliers meet performance expectations, and supply chain processes continuously support business and customer requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing the material resources planning & demand fulfillment portion of the supply chain from the point of manufacture (& at the supplier) to customer. To ensure proper development of the requirements plan and the execution of the plan throughout the supply chain including shipping function.
 
  • Purchasing - Leads Supply Chain Officers in developing supplier programs to improve lead-time, responsiveness, and reliability of product information. Ensures that purchased parts/products conform to specific purchase requirements. Ensure that materials arrive on time to support scheduled production builds and monitor supply to ensure there are no materials delay or delinquent deliveries from vendors/suppliers. Provides timely reporting on supplier delivery status of all projects and performance measures. Maintains accountability for all purchase orders placed.
  • Vendor management - Manages vendor relationships to ensure the coordinated development, implementation, and measurement of programs to support supply chain strategies. Performs half-yearly appraisals of supplier performance in order to recommend the continuation of existing business relationship and alternatively take appropriate actions to improve the supply performance.
  • Subcontractors – Ensures that only qualified subcontractors for shop floor control production order are used.
  • Infor ERP software management - is system manager for all the related matters of the ERP system, designs and/or improves the purchasing and planning supported by the ERP system, trains and motivates the ERP users, liaise with external consultants and with specialists from other ESCATEC companies in order to optimally use the ERP system to support ESCATEC’s supply chain function. Develop and monitors process edit reports to ensure that system settings and controls are properly aligned with business objectives and system requirements. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and suggests and implements improvements, as necessary.
  • Inventory control – Ensures that system data and actual physical count are identical. Produces a monthly summarization and analysis of inventory liabilities and excess, as well as slow turning inventories.
  • Process improvement - Coordinates and ensures the quality of development, training, implementation and modification of systems and processes to support business objectives. Optimizes internal logistic processes for materials planning and handling applying state of the art methods such as LEAN, Kanban, etc.
  • New product launches - Provides guidance to Supply Chain Officer in the process of developing and monitoring project timelines for new product launches.
  • Customers focus - Partner with the commercial team of inventory investment to develop and update the inventory and delivery plan for the departments managed; establish seasonal and monthly turn objectives for departments managed. Ensure that customer forecasts are properly entry to ERP system and reported.
  • Warehouse - Manages and controls warehouse staff and product, ensures LMW compliance, and always optimize the warehouse space.
  • Shipping - Selects and manages shipping company to ensure timely and proper arrival of shipped goods. Maintain the required licenses related to import and export operation.
  • Department development - Recruit, retain and develop team members.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, such as MITI, MIDA, Customs, etc. to meet the government regulations.
  • Leading a team of Section Heads who are responsible for their respective Section.
  • Manages department budget and controls expenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
 
Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience in Supply Chain Management, Material Planning, Purchasing and Logistics within a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier and vendor management, including supplier performance monitoring and negotiation.
  • Experience in inventory control, demand planning and production material planning.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably Infor LN, SAP or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of warehouse, shipping and import/export operations.
  • Experience in Lean, Kanban or continuous improvement initiatives is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience managing a team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-focused, result-oriented and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-organized, proactive, hands-on and able to work independently.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
     
Qualifications 
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations Management, Purchasing or a related discipline.
  • Several years of relevant working experience in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment, particularly in supply chain, purchasing and logistics.
  • Experience with Infor LN, SAP or other ERP systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience in supplier management, inventory control and material planning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, hands-on and result-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
